Welcome to Gatekeeper. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between HoneyWired ("we," "us," or "our") and the Shopify merchant ("Merchant," "you," or "your") installing and using the Gatekeeper application.
By installing Gatekeeper on your Shopify store, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must uninstall the Service immediately.
The "Service" encompasses the Gatekeeper Shopify application, the Theme App Extension injected into your storefront, the admin dashboard, and our associated APIs. The Service explicitly does not include the Shopify platform itself, your website hosting, your theme, or any third-party integrations.
You acknowledge and agree that Gatekeeper is:
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your store, your products, and your use of Gatekeeper comply with all applicable age-restriction and consumer protection laws.
The Service is provided "as-is" with respect to digital accessibility. You are solely responsible for the overall accessibility of your storefront under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and similar regulations. We make no representations or warranties that the implementation of Gatekeeper on your specific theme will satisfy accessibility standards or protect you from related claims.
Our data processing roles, retention practices, and privacy commitments are comprehensively described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
For merchants located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our Data Processing Agreement forms an integral part of these Terms.
We do not hold your configuration hostage. You may export your Gatekeeper rules and design configurations at any time in a standard JSON format via the app’s Reports page.
Gatekeeper offers the following subscription tiers:

All billing is processed directly through the Shopify Billing API.
The 14-day Pro Trial begins immediately upon completion of app installation and acceptance of these Terms. At the end of the 14-day period, your trial will automatically convert to the paid subscription tier you selected at installation ($9.99 Pro Monthly or $83.90 Pro Annual) at its standard price, unless you cancel before the trial expires. You may switch between Pro Monthly and Pro Annual at any time during or after the trial. We will notify you via an in-app banner at least three (3) days before your trial ends and again on the day of conversion.
By initiating the trial or selecting a paid plan, you expressly authorize Shopify to automatically charge your default payment method the exact amount corresponding to your selected billing cycle ($9.99 per month or $83.90 per year) on a recurring basis.
Cancellation Instructions: You may cancel your subscription at any time to avoid future charges by uninstalling the Gatekeeper app from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling automatically cancels your subscription through Shopify’s billing system — there is no separate in-app cancellation step.
Charges for the Gatekeeper Service are generally non-refundable, consistent with Shopify’s standard subscription policy (Shopify Terms of Service §5.10). The 14-day Pro Trial is provided as the mechanism to evaluate the Service before any charge is incurred.
You may cancel your subscription at any time by uninstalling the Service from your Shopify admin. When an annual subscription is uninstalled mid-term, you retain access to the Service for the remainder of the paid billing period and may reinstall within that window.
Requests for refunds based on billing errors or extraordinary circumstances may be submitted to support@honeywired.com for case-by-case review. HoneyWired is under no obligation to issue refunds outside of the above policy.
HoneyWired retains all intellectual property rights in and to the Gatekeeper Service. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service solely in connection with your active Shopify store.
The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We make no Service Level Agreement (SLA) commitments and do not guarantee any specific uptime percentage.
Support is provided on a best-effort basis during standard US business hours. If you require assistance, please contact us at support@honeywired.com. While we aim to respond to inquiries within two (2) business days, we do not guarantee specific initial response times or resolution windows.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HoneyWired shall not be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages (including regulatory fines or accessibility lawsuits). HoneyWired’s total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) five hundred U.S. dollars ($500.00), or (b) the total amount paid by you to HoneyWired during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the claim.
Carve-outs: This limitation shall not apply to damages arising from HoneyWired’s gross negligence, willful misconduct, breaches of confidentiality, or obligations regarding intellectual property indemnification.
7.1 Merchant Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HoneyWired against any claims, fines, or damages arising from your violation of applicable laws (including age-restriction regulations) or third-party rights.
7.2 HoneyWired Indemnification: HoneyWired agrees to defend and indemnify you against claims that the Gatekeeper Service, as provided to you, infringes upon the intellectual property rights of a third party, provided you promptly notify us of such claim, grant us sole control over the defense, and provide reasonable cooperation in that defense.
8.1 Term, Termination, and Survival: These Terms remain in effect until you uninstall the Service or we terminate your access. Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases, and outstanding fees remain due. Data deletion upon termination is handled as outlined in Section 7 of our Privacy Policy. Sections 5 (Intellectual Property), 6.3 (Limitation of Liability), 7 (Mutual Indemnification), and 9 (Dispute Resolution) shall survive termination.
8.2 Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond their reasonable control (e.g., platform outages, natural disasters, acts of God).
8.3 Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
8.4 Modifications: We may update these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice via email or an in-app notification with the option to uninstall the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service following the effective date of such changes constitutes acceptance.
9.1 Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
9.2 Binding Arbitration: Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the breach thereof shall be settled by confidential binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in Chicago, Illinois. Payment of all filing, administration, and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA’s rules.
9.3 Exceptions (Small Claims): Either party may elect to have the dispute resolved in a small claims court of competent jurisdiction rather than in arbitration, provided the claim qualifies.
9.4 Class Action Waiver: You and HoneyWired agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
9.5 Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice of your decision to opt out to support@honeywired.com within thirty (30) days of installing the Service. If you opt out, standard jurisdiction applies.
