Cutout Mode uses on-device AI (Apple's Vision framework) to detect people, pets, or objects in your photo. It removes the background and generates a clean custom border with a dotted line, making it easy to cut out and mount on cardboard.
Yes! Once you set your scale, tap "View in Room". Using Augmented Reality, the app will project your actual poster onto your floor at its exact real-world dimensions. You can even record a video of the preview!
You can use standard office paper, but card stock will make a more durable wall poster. For Standee Mode, we highly recommend card stock, but to make it stand up, you must glue the paper to a foam core board or sturdy cardboard backing. Paper alone will not stand up.
Every page prints with a dotted "Cut Line." We recommend using an X-Acto knife or scissors to trim along these lines. We also print an "Overlap" area (glue tab) containing smart Row/Column text guides. Simply apply tape or glue to the overlap area and place the next sheet on top for a seamless join.
No. You can use any standard inkjet or laser printer that supports AirPrint directly from your iPhone. You can also save the final output as a PDF to print from a computer later.

At HoneyWired, we believe your photos are private data. Cardboard Cutout is designed to operate completely offline.
All AI features, including background removal for Cutout Mode, run entirely on your device using Apple's local Neural Engine. Your photos are never uploaded to a server for processing.
We do not collect, store, share, or transmit any of your personal data, photos, or usage information. All image processing (slicing and scaling) happens locally.
The app requests access to your Photo Library solely to let you select an image to print, and to let you save snapshots/videos taken in the "View in Room" AR mode back to your camera roll. We do not (and cannot) view your library remotely.
If you use the "View in Room" feature, the app requires Camera access to power the Augmented Reality session and detect the floor. We do not record or transmit your camera feed.
There are no third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs included in this app.
Cardboard Cutout is a paid application. Once purchased, you are granted a non-exclusive license to use the app indefinitely on your iOS devices. There are no advertisements or additional in-app purchases required to unlock features.
You are responsible for the content you choose to print. HoneyWired LLC is not responsible for the copyright status of images you process using this tool.
The app is provided "as is." While we support standard AirPrint devices, we cannot guarantee compatibility with every specific printer model or driver configuration.
